ACTA, WHAT IS IT?<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe ACTA (Ashland City Teachers Association) is a local association\/union of the professional teachers working within the Ashland City Schools.\u00a0 ACTA represents its members through the work of negotiations for and enforcement of a Master Agreement and providing representation as needed for professional concerns of the member.\u00a0 These are accomplished with the assistance and cooperation of our Labor Relations Consultant and the services of NCOEA, OEA\u00a0 and the NEA. The geographic area of the ACTA consists of the City of Ashland and the central portions of Ashland county in parts of the townships of Milton, Montgomery,\u00a0 and Perry.<\/span>PURPOSE<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe purpose of the ACTA is to work with our members and the Ashland City School District and community to:<\/span>
\n\u00b7 provide a democratic avenue for discussion of and resolution of professional concerns<\/span>
\n\u00b7 provide an avenue for community service and promotion of scholastic excellence<\/span>
\n\u00b7 promote excellence in public education<\/span>
\n\u00b7 elect responsible representative(s) to the NCOEA Executive Committee<\/span>
\n\u00b7 call attention to local concerns and problems<\/span>
\n\u00b7 help coordinate OEA and NCOEA sponsored activities intended to benefit local associations<\/span>
\n\u00b7 elect representatives to NCOEA, OEA and NEA Representative Assemblies.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACTA Leadership is divided into three groups:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Officers consist of:<\/span><\/strong>
\n\u00b7 President<\/span>
\n\u00b7 Vice President<\/span>
\n\u00b7 Treasurer<\/span>
\n\u00b7 Secretary<\/span>
\n\u00b7 Past President<\/span><\/p>\n

The Executive Committee <\/span><\/strong> performs the ordinary business of the ACTA between the General Membership meetings. The Executive Committee shall be composed of the officers, representatives of each building within the ACTA, and a representative to NCOEA\u00a0 and committee chairpersons.\u00a0 Ex Officio members include any OEA officer, NEA Board of Director and\/or OEA Executive Committee member who is a member of ACTA.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
